Johnson and Rivers Earn Mid America League Player of the Week Honors

The Mid America League has announced its Players of the Week, recognizing standout performances on both the mound and at the plate. This week’s honors go to pitcher Conner Johnson of the Joplin Outlaws and hitter Davis Rivers of the Abilene Flying Bison.

Pitcher of the Week: Conner Johnson

Team: Joplin Outlaws

Hometown: Salina, OK

College: Oral Roberts

Conner Johnson was dominant in his latest start. In 6.2 scoreless innings, he allowed just 4 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 11 batters to earn the win and maintain a pristine 0.00 ERA for the week. Johnson’s electric performance helped lead the Outlaws to a crucial victory and firmly established him as one of the league's premier arms.

Hitter of the Week: Davis Rivers

Team: Abilene Flying Bison

Hometown: Waller, TX

College: Texas Tech

Rivers made the most of his opportunities at the plate. He posted a .333 batting average for the week, driving in 5 runs, scoring 3 times, collecting 2 hits, and drawing 2 walks. Rivers’ timely offense was a key factor in the Flying Bison's success, delivering in big moments and showcasing his value as a clutch hitter.
